Conductivity – Short Notes with Formula --- 🔹

⚡ Conductivity – Short Notes with Formula --- 🔹

 1. Specific Conductivity (κ)

 📘 Definition:  It is the conductance of a solution kept between two electrodes of 1 cm² area and 1 cm apart.

 📏 Formula:

κ = (1/R) × (l/A)
   = Specific conductivity (S/cm) = Resistance (ohm) = Distance between electrodes (cm) = Area of cross-section (cm²) $

 📐 Unit: S cm⁻¹ ---

 🔹 2. Molar Conductivity (Λₘ)

 📘 Definition: Conductivity of 1 mole of electrolyte in a given volume of solution.

 🧪 Formula:

Λm = (κ × 1000) / C
 = Molar conductivity (S cm² mol⁻¹) = Specific conductivity (S/cm) = Molar concentration (mol/L)$

 📐 Unit: S cm² mol⁻¹ ---

 🔹 3. Equivalent Conductivity (Λ_eq)

 📘 Definition: Conductivity of a solution containing 1 gram equivalent of electrolyte.

  🧪 Formula:
Λeq = (κ × 1000) / N
= Equivalent conductivity (S cm² eq⁻¹) = Specific conductivity = Normality (eq/L) $

📐 Unit: S cm² eq⁻¹
